Why Now?

We are constantly surrounded by change, and most of us find it overwhelming. We have lived with this legacy for too long. Most people have felt unseen, unheard, disconnected and devalued for too long. With every cycle of the EE Report when employees are invited to participate in the barrier analysis, they are reminded of how little their views and contribution matter. This builds anger, resentment and disengagement from employees who feel betrayed by the institutions they have pledged their allegiance to.

 

 Now more than ever, it is time to win your team’s trust. It is time to remind them that you are all on the same team. Now more than ever, it is time to focus on the one thing we have in common – our humanity. Now more than ever is the time to take our stand in creating a new destiny for ourselves, our employees, colleagues, families, communities, nation and the world.

The 2022 Employment Equity Commission Report states that between 2019 and 2021

According to the PwC South Africa’s 2022 Executive Directors Report:

  • Only seven of the Top 100 companies are led by female CEO (As of June 2022) compared to 5% across all listed companies in 2021
  • Only 10 out of 33 executive appointments in the Top 40 companies were female.
  • Out of the 208 new appointments into executive positions across the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, only 53 were women

Our Approach

The EE Plan

We study the Employment Equity report and the plan to have a in depth understanding of the issues that hinder transformation and the current organisational culture.

 

We then pick at least three of the most critical issues that have been identified as barriers to transformation as our starting point.

Consultation/Brief

We take to listen to our clients so we can understand where they are  in their DE&I journey and where they would like to see themselves as an organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

We spent time with leaders and teams that will be involved in the project because without their buy-in even the best crafted strategy will fail.

Strategy Design

We use that data from the EE report and the EE Plan to design a strategy that will not only remove the barriers and shift the culture but will also help the business achieve it’s objectives.

Implementation

We design multi-media campaigns to communicate with employees across levels and departments.

Evaluate and measure

We evaluate and measure progress.
